After launching a series of budget and mid-range smartphones in E, G, Z, and most recently the ‘One’ series, Motorola has finally announced a flagship smartphone.
Motorola is back to the flagship game with its new Motorola Edge Series. The company has unveiled Motorola Edge and Edge+ smartphones. Both Motorola Edge and Edge+ are 5G enabled and this is the first 5G device the smartphone maker has ever made.
The mid-ranger Motorola Edge is packed with Snapdragon 765G chipset and Motorola Edge+ with Snapdragon 865 chipset. Both the smartphones have a curvy glass design with punch-hole in the front and triple rear camera setup on the back and a 90Hz OLED panel.
The Motorola Edge Series has a new camera UI with Night Vision, Video Portrait Mode, Video-hyper-lapse.
New Software Features
Both Motorola Edge and Edge plus run on stock Android 10. As Motorola has tried a curvy design on their phone, they are providing the users with functional edge gestures to check notifications or quickly switch apps. The edge also provides details about the battery charging status, notifications for incoming calls, messages, and alarms. The curved portion of the edge shows two customizable buttons at the top and bottom that can be used as triggers while gaming in landscape mode.
Motorola has introduced My UX hub in the Moto app that allows customizing fonts, colors, icon shapes, fingerprint unlock animation. One can also create custom themes for the notification drawer. The Motorola Edge Series is powered by Dual-waves stereo speakers to enhance the audio output with superior quality.
