Mi Box 4K vs Fire TV Stick 4K

Smart TVs cost a lot compared to regular TVs. Although smart TVs are priced higher, they offer better picture quality, audio, and Wi-Fi support, and in some cases, they come with Android TV OS or custom OS.

However, there are certain issues with smart TVs. Some TVs doesn’t support specific streaming service like Amazon Prime, Netflix. And, in some cases, some of them come with buggy OS/UI. And, lastly, smart TVs with all the features are costly and everyone can’t afford it.

Xiaomi, along with the launch its flagship Mi 10 announced its first streaming device in India, the Mi Box 4K. The Mi Box 4K is set to take on the Fire TV Stick 4K from Amazon. So, we decided to take on compare both of them side-by-side.

Both the streaming devices can be attached to any TV with HDMI port and they will transform a boring TV to a Smart TV with a new UI and apps.

Conclusion

As you can see from the above table, the Mi Box 4K streaming device is priced way less than the Fire TV 4K and offers more features. In fact, the Full HD version of the Fire TV costs ₹ 500 more than the Mi Box 4K.

Personally, I own a Fire TV Stick(Full HD) for a few years now and was pretty excited when Xiaomi announced the price for the below reasons:

The Mi Box runs on Android 9 TV OS and brings the whole Android system to the box with over 5000 apps and games. Also, it comes with Chromecast Ultra built-in, a USB port to play media locally, and 3.5 mm audio out to connect to external speakers.

If we were to pick a winner among these, we’d go with the Mi Box 4K because of the price and also the features that it offers at such a low price.

If you already own a premium Smart TV that supports Dolby Vision, you can get the Fire TV Stick. Additionally, both the Fire TV Stick also supports Apple TV.
