OnePlus 8 with 90Hz Display, Snapdragon 865, Tripe Rear Cameras Announced

OnePlus 8 is now official. Alongside the launch of OnePlus 8 Pro top of the line flagship, the company also announced OnePlus 8 which is priced much lesser compared to the OnePlus 8 Pro. The OnePlus 8 will be the successor to the OnePlus 7T, one of the best devices of 2019. At the event, the company also announced Bullet Wireless Z earphones. In this article, we will take a look at what the newly launched OnePlus 8 has to offer.

OnePlus 8: Design and Display

Similar to the OnePlus 8 Pro, the OnePlus 8 also features a hole-pinch design with a tiny cut-out to fit in the front camera. The device is made up of premium brushed aluminum and features a tall 20:9 aspect ration with little to no bezel.

OnePlus 8: Display

The 8 features a big 6.55-inch Full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080p resolution. The refresh rate here is at 90Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, a first in OnePlus device. Also, over at the front, the device is covered by Gorilla Glass 6 for better protection. It is also HDR10+ certified.

OnePlus 8: Performance

It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Octa-core chipset which is clocked at 2.8Ghz along with Adreno 650 GPU graphics and X55 Modem for 5G connectivity. And, when the 5G network will be made available in India, the device will be able to support all the bands. The 8 comes in two variants with up to 12GB LPDD4x RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 internal storage with no microSD card slot.

OnePlus 8: Cameras

OnePlus 8 features a triple rear camera set-up. A 48MP f/1.8 Sony IMX586 primary camera with OIS and EIS followed by a 16MP f/2.2, 119-degree ultra-wide lens and a 2MP f/2.4, macro camera. The camera features include – PDAF, 4K recording, Nightscape 3.0, slow-mo, and more.

The punch-hole selfie shooter packs in a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and also supports EIS.

OnePlus 8 Battery

Packed with a big 4300mAH battery, the OnePlus 8 Pro supports Warp charge 30T wired fast charging via Type-C port. Unlike the OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8 doesn’t support wireless charging.

OnePlus 8: Software

It runs on OxygenOS 10.5 based on Android 10 and will get Android 11 as soon as Google releases the stable version of the Android 11.

OnePlus 8 comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and also face unlock for security. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack but, it comes with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos sound.

OnePlus 8 users will also get 3 months of 100GB Google One storage for free(trail) and also soon it will also get Google Stadia support.
